Sony Kapoor is managing director of the international think tank Re-Define, where he advises multilateral organizations, investors, central banks, and European and emerging economies on economic and financial policy. An economist, financial sector expert, and development practitioner, he also serves as CEO of the boutique Court Jesters Consulting, where he advises several large, long-term investors and corporations on investments and strategy. Previously, Mr. Kapoor had a multidisciplinary role at the London School of Economics (LSE), where he was a senior visiting fellow in the Development and Government Departments and a strategy adviser to the Systemic Risk Centre. He has served as an investment banker, a special adviser to the UN Environment Programme on green finance, and a member of the World Economic Forum’s Global Agenda Council on the Future of Asset Management and Insurance. Mr. Kapoor was also the first chairman of the Banking Stakeholder Group at the European Banking Authority. He was recognized as a Young European Leader by Friends of Europe, a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum, and a fellow of the Royal Society of Arts. Mr. Kapoor is an alumnus of LSE, the University of Delhi, and the Indian Institute of Technology.
