Peter Massey-Cook

Peter Massey-Cook is head of ethics in EMEA at State Street, where he has been responsible for developing an anti-bribery programme and building a “speak-up” culture. He is a leader in compliance and business ethics, with experience building and managing compliance programmes in the regulated and non-regulated sectors. Previously, Mr. Massey-Cook worked at Orient-Express Hotels, where he reported to the board and established the compliance programme, which included launching a new code of conduct and speak-up programme. He has also served as head of employee compliance at UBS in Europe, where he managed employee conflicts of interest and controls around personal trading. In addition, Mr. Massey-Cook worked at BP, where he was responsible for compliance and ethics in Europe and for global policy, advice, and training in the energy trading business. He began his career in business development and strategic marketing in the manufacturing industry. Mr. Massey-Cook is a member of Chatham House and the Worshipful Company of International Bankers and is a fellow of the International Compliance Association. He graduated as an economic historian from Bristol University and earned an MBA at Cranfield School of Management.
