Elena Manola-Bonthond

Elena Manola-Bonthond is the chief investment officer of the CERN Pension Fund, the pension fund of the European Organization for Nuclear Research, where she has played an instrumental role in defining and implementing an investment governance framework optimized for dynamic risk management. Previously, she worked in CERN’s science sector, where she was responsible for the safety and risk management system of CERN’s flagship installation, the Large Hadron Collider. Dr. Manola-Bonthond has also worked as a research physicist at CERN. She is a CAIA charterholder, and she earned an MBA in international management from the University of Geneva and a PhD in particle physics from the University of Savoie and CERN.
