Roger Bootle

Roger Bootle runs Capital Economics, a consultancy specializing in macroeconomics and the economics of the property market. Previously, he was group chief economist of HSBC and served on the U.K. Chancellor’s panel of Independent Economic Advisers. Mr. Bootle is a regular columnist for The Daily Telegraph and has written books on monetary economics, including The Trouble with Markets and The Death of Inflation.  He is economic adviser to Deloitte, a specialist adviser to the House of Commons Treasury Committee and an honorary fellow of the Institute of Actuaries. Mr. Bootle holds a degree in philosophy, politics, and economics and a BPhil degree in economics from Oxford University.
